Classes

Here’s an overview of the classes we offer. The Events page also shows more of these and other activities that might interest you.

Explore Archery

Explore Archery is a fun, 5 week introductory program for anyone interested in getting into the sport. Families and groups welcome. Learn about safety, basic bow handling, and shooting. This course is not required to join Beginning Archery. This course does not replace Beginning Archery as the prerequisite for Advanced Archery. Per instructor, participating children must be accompanied by parent and/or legal guardian during the class.

Feel free to ask us any questions you might have.

See the Explore Archery Events page for dates and times.

Beginning Archery 1

Archery 1 is a 5 week course that teaches you the basic fundamentals of the National Training System.
You are taught the safety rules, first shot, and other fundamentals.

The final week, we take a bench mark score. These scores are for you to keep and compare with the bench mark score of the final week of Archery 2.

As we teach the lessons and see that each student has the day’s lesson learned, we have been known to have fun at the end of class with CD’s or balloons.

Beginning Archery 2

Beginning Archery 2 is a 5 week course that continues the National Training System.
In this course, you learn more advanced techniques to improve your shooting stability and stamina.
Just like in Archery 1 the final week we shoot for a bench mark score to compare to your Beginning Archery 1 score. There should be a marked improvement.

We continue making individual adjustments to maximize every archer’s potential. Participate in USA Archery’s youth or adult Archery Development program to earn awards for improving your personal best benchmark scores. Progress at your own pace and compete if you want to. Learn tournament rules and line etiquette. Get tips and tricks for competitive shooting. There’s a tournament in our region every weekend during the fall-winter season – lots of opportunities to shoot!

Advanced Archery welcomes both able-bodied and disabled archers. USA Archery Development awards are available to all USA archery members.

All ages and abilities shoot together in class and in their respective divisions at tournaments.
