This course is not required to join Beginning Archery. This course does not replace Beginning Archery as the prerequisite for Advanced Archery. Per instructor, participating children must be accompanied by parent and/or legal guardian during the class.

Basic Archery

Archery is for everyone! Regardless of age or physical ability, almost anyone can be an archer. Two (or more) USA Archery Certified Coaches will teach you the same method our Olympic and Paralympic archers use. We love making archery accessible to people with disabilities, so don’t let your perceived physical limitations stop you from giving archery a try! All equipment and safety gear is provided. Archers age 9-17 must have a parent on site, so why not sign up together? If you have never shot a bow, or if you have a little experience and want a refresher, this course is for you. You will learn:
• Range rules and safe shooting procedures
• Equipment basics for both compound and recurve bows
• Fundamentals of good form
• Learn to shoot the same system our Olympians use
• Scoring

All ages and abilities shoot together. Please wear closed toe shoes.

Advanced Archery

If you enjoyed Beginning Archery and have approval from our coaches, join the Advanced Archery class to continue developing your form and accuracy. Coaching at this level is individualized. We continue making individual adjustments to maximize every archer’s potential. Participate in USA Archery’s youth or adult Archery Development program to earn awards for improving your personal best benchmark scores. Progress at your own pace and compete if you want to. Learn tournament rules and line etiquette. Get tips and tricks for competitive shooting. There’s a tournament in our region every weekend during the fall-winter season – lots of opportunities to shoot!

Advanced Archery welcomes both able-bodied and disabled archers. USA Archery Development awards are available to all USA archery members.

All ages and abilities shoot together in class and in their respective divisions at tournaments.
